$20,000 Goal

Help Replace Damaged Windows at the Lopez Island Library

The Lopez Island Library building started its journey as a schoolhouse in 1894, and after a move across the street and several additions, the library has become the heart of our community.

Now we’ve learned that some of the more than 20-year old windows in the library are failing and need to be replaced to avoid damage to the building or the library’s collection of books, movies and music.

If you pitch in during Give Lopez, generous donors will match every dollar you give, so you can double your impact.

The Friends is an all-volunteer organization that raises funds to supplement library district revenues, and support needed improvements, programs, and events.   We work closely with the Library staff to fund priority projects.

We’ve raised funds for musical events, teen internships, StoryTime for kids, and online Seattle Arts and Lectures access. We even pitched in for a new fire alarm system and funded a top-to-bottom building inspection.

The Lopez Island Library is more than a beautiful building with a rich collection of books.  It's a vibrant community hub, a center for art and music, and a welcoming place for lifelong learning.

We’ve set a goal of raising $20,000 during Give Lopez toward the cost of replacing the windows.  Please consider a donation today, of whatever you can afford.

Thank you!
